Spring is coming to Royalton, Vermont and mud-season is in the rear-view mirror!
The Snow Drops are in bloom and the Daffodils and Crocuses are on the rise. Our pastures are also showing a hint of green and our cows are now staying out all day. I give them hay and let them graze on all of the main pasture so they can get used to the grass as it greens up.
This strategy successfully prevents them from developing Grass Tetany or other digestive upsets. When the grass grows to be a couple of inches I will begin to rotate them through the paddocks and the race will be on!
